Our mission:

"It is the mission of Sound Care Audiology, Inc. to pleasantly and respectfully provide the best in audiologic care to the people of the Wabash Valley."

     What is audiologic care?

     "Audiologic care is the protection,
     preservation, evaluation and treatment of
the hearing and balance functions of the
     human audio-vestibular system and is
     provided only by audiologists either
autonomously or as members of a
healthcare team for the purpose of
improving the quality of life for every
     patient."

      "Au.D. means professional hearing care"

The advantage of true professional hearing care (audiologic care) from Sound Care Audiology:

Get a hospital-quality hearing evaluation. Rule out the need for medical treatment.  If hearing aids are recommended, a Doctor of Audiology can help you get the right technology, with the right cosmetic features, at the right price.  More importantly, you'll also get precise programming of the hearing aids for maximum benefit, follow-up fine tuning as the brain adjusts to hearing well again, and verification of aided improvement.

You can't get this level of care from hearing aid dealers or internet retailers.  Periodic maintenance and analysis of hearing aid function is also included for the length of the warranty.  Many products come with extended warranties.

Ultimately, it's not about buying hearing aids.  It's about hearing as well as possible.  How accurately do you want your hearing tested or your hearing aids programmed?

Everyone deserves audiologic care.  Urge Congress to pass the Medicare Hearing Health Care Enhancement Act

This legislation would eliminate the current Medicare requirement for a physician referral before seeing an audiologist for existing covered audiology services.  The current requirement preempts state license laws which allow patients direct access to audiologists.  The Department of Veterans Affairs has allowed veterans to see audiologists directly since 1992 and has indicated that direct access to audiology services provides quality hearing health care and is "cost effective." Members of Congress and federal employees may also access audiologists directly through the Federal Employee Health Benefits Plan. Under the Medicare program, seniors should have the same choice to access audiologists for covered hearing and balance testing.  Encourage your U.S. House Representative to support this bill.
